Originally, the Damba festival was celebrated to commemorate the birth of the prophet Mohammed of Islam. But in Northern Ghana, it has now become a festival of traditional chiefs. Get immersed in the colourful displays of power and dance with the locals. Become part of a sub chief’s entourage and watch a big durbar of chiefs who are waving horsetails and displaying colorful umbrellas. As a finishing touch you will visit Mole National Park.
