Ashanti culture centres on ancestral worship, and so once a month (every 42 days) it is customary to come in contact with the ancestors to give them thanks for their protection. Parts of the weekend festival are open to the public.

Ahwia is where fertility dolls and wood carvings are manufactured. Ntonso is where the traditional funeral clothing called Adinkra is made. Watch brass craftsmen at Sokoban or pottery making at Pankrono - choose any three of these villages and gain an interesting insight into local life!
