At sunset, the savanna comes alive. And you are in the midst of it. At your private campsite in the heart of Mole National Park a candlelight dinner awaits you. Spend the night in a tent decorated with Fulani wedding blankets. During the day, marvel at birds, untamed elephants, antelopes, buffalos and many more. Get in touch with traditions and be blessed by a local priest. As a final touch to your honeymoon relax on the shore of a crater lake and at the beach.
This tour is very flexible so you can see this itinerary as a suggestion. We are always happy to make special arrangements that suit your needs. Please note that a change in the itinerary might mean a change in price. This tour can also be combined with exploring other parts of Ghana.
Day 1 - Arrive at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana. After you clear passport control and customs, you will be greeted by a M&J staff member who will transfer you to your hotel in Accra.
Day 2 - Depart after breakfast for a half day city tour of the old part of Accra and the rest of the day is free. We suggest a visit to Labadi Beach which gets quite busy on Sundays but during the week you can have some quiet time there.
Day 3 - Check out of your accommodation for an early morning transfer at 5.00 am to the Kotoka International Airport. Check in at the domestic desk at the domestic departure hall for departure formalities for your onward flight to Tamale. Flight time is 1 hr 45 minutes. Upon arrival in Tamale you will be met by M&J Travel and Tours Staff members who will welcome you and transfer you from the airport for your breakfast at the local restaurant downtown set in a lush garden. Thereafter, you will have a 2 hour City Tour of Tamale.
Depart at 1 pm with a 4x4 vehicle to Mole National Park. Upon arrival you will be met by a M&J Travel and Tours staff member who will transfer you to the Mole National Park.
Mole is located in the northern region of Ghana, with an area of 4849 square kilometers. It is the largest and most developed protected area for eco- tourism and nature conservation in Ghana. The bountiful vegetation of the Guinea Savannah landscape is home to diverse creatures. Within the borders of this beautifully wooded country side, you can find mammals, reptiles, birds and plants dwelling in its ecosystem. Over 94 mammalian species have been identified so far in park such as elephants, buffalos, lions, and various kinds of monkeys to name a few. Even the great African antelope herds make their way across these lands in search of abundant resources and ideal mating spots.
You will have a private walking and driving safari in the park to have the best view of the untamed but friendly elephants, antelopes, warthogs, baboons and other monkeys.
Mole offers you a premium site for birding with over 300 identified bird species. Delight yourself as you watch egrets, flycatchers, and many more.
Reptile enthusiasts can watch for a variety of snakes, crocodiles, etc. Enjoy the beauty of these magnificent reptiles.
While on safari, you will see giant anthill mounds, stunning butterflies and moths. Amuse and educate yourself as you watch a dung beetle rolling its prize away.
You will spend the night at a campsite and have a candlelight dinner there. You will sleep in a traditional Fulani tent, decorated with Fulani wedding blankets.
Day 4 - Visit the local communities in our local vehicles or bicycle: You can visit Larabanga or Mognori Eco Village. There a local priest will tell you about traditional marriage practices and if you like you can participate in a ritual to bless your marriage. You will spend the night at your campsite again.
Day 5 - Depart from Mole to Kumasi. You will visit lake Bosomtwe, a crater lake in the Ashanti region. A free day for personal exploration. Overnight stay in Bosomtwe Paradise Resort.
Day 6 - Depart to Kokrobite for a night at the beach.
Day 7 - Transfer to the airport for your outward flight with lots of wonderful memories about Ghana and the thought of returning soon.
We advise that should you need to cancel, you must notify us on time. However, your cancellation must be in writing by email. It will be effective on the date of receipt of the mail. Cancellation charges, per person, based upon the date of the cancellation, are as follows
90 – 30 days: 20% of tour cost
29 – 10 days: 50% of tour cost
Less than 10 days and no show: 100% of tour cost.
